"(2) We would like to minimize the space in the SCT window taken up by the diagnostics window. To do this, we suggest removing the row that contains the "File" and "settings" buttons and the search field. We would like these to only be displayed if the diagnostics are in a seperate window (see previous image).

Also, whatever settings (image to the right) are selected when the diagnostics are in a seperate window should be applied to the integrated window (i.e. option of horizontal scroll bar and line numbers)."

[Phil:] Perhaps we should add a Diagnostics menu item to the SCT proper. The "Show Diagnostics ..." currently under the SCT's "View" menu would be moved to there. So, the SCT's Diagnostics menu would be something like this (see box to the right).

"(3) We would like to be able to save the settings in the diagnostics window."

[Phil:] The settings are not yet persistent. They should be made persistent application wide, probably using QSettings. (Those are user-specific -- which is anomolous for TVA, which uses a single Unix login for all their operators).
