Andy, the attached MP4 movie (5284Demo.mp4, no sound, 684 KB) demonstrates this problem (_00D70MgDW._50070WiI49).

  (1) File >> Reopen Model >> "cut corner" to submenu ... Click: NOTHING (bug).
  (2) ... (optional: another move within that submenu) ... Click: Good.
  (3) File >> Reopen Model >> "clean" move to submenu ... Click: Good.

Please let me know if we need to convey this file to you some other way.
