(21) Selector Dialogs (GUS)

General notes:

  1. Since GUS (the Grand Unified Selector) is shown only modally, no Unit Scheme changes are possible during a GUS "session" -- i.e. while that selector dialog is shown. This greatly simplifies the Unit Scheme issues with this module.
     
  2. Some work was done on GUS two months ago specifically for Unit Scheme feature requirements. See e-mails from 1-17-2013 to 1-21-2013 entitled "For Unit Schemes: GUS Unit Type Filter supporting Slot Columns".

Questions from the Unit Scheme Test Plan:

Does the Unit Type filter still work?
 

Yes. Note: The recent changes mentioned above involved the Unit Type filter.
Are values displayed for scalars in the selector?
 

Yes. Values are shown only for scalar slots and single-cell table slots. A "Value" column appears when the Slot Type filter is set to either of these filter values:

  • Scalar
  • Scalar and 1x1 Table

This value display includes unit text, and does correspond to the units for the particular slot provided by Unit Schemes.
