Tabular Series Slot Report / Green Book Fixes and Enhancements for RiverWare 5.2 (November 2009)

Compl. From Problem / Request Solution
USBR The "Save" button also closes the dialog. It shouldn't. I didn't have time to address this -- changing the behavior was surprisingly tricky, because it uses some low-level mechanism which needed some care.
USBR Misleading error message: "Report file does not exist" ... in response to generating the report. Other changes may have mitigated this problem. I wasn't able to recreate this particular message.
11-17-2009 USBR There is, understandably, some confusion about the "selection" of the file path for the report to be generated. (It's not actually true that the output file has to exist before it can be generated). DONE: This was partially addressed by changing the "Select File..." buttons to "Specify File Path..." on the Output Tab, and by changing the titles on the file chooser dialogs.

Significant Enhancement.
USBR Automatic wrapping of column header text (applicable to either the Slot Name or the User-supplied column text) is desirable.

DONE: I added two options (under the Column Labels section):
[X] Wrap column text at spaces
[X] Wrap column text at other punctuation

Not in 5.2 USBR [Warren Sharp, 11-6-2009]: I turned on the "Show notes as footnotes" to no effect. I expected notes columns to appear if there are no notes. I'm not recommending any change at this time. This can be considered.
Not in 5.2 USBR [Warren Sharp, 11-6-2009]: There are no notes in the data object slots that are used in the Tabular Series Slot Report. The data object slots are summations of accounting slots where the notes are located. Apparently, the notes functionality needs to mine dependent slots for notes. This is not part of the design of series annotation notes, and would need to be considered as a non-trivial enhancement.
October David (1) If you enter a User Column Label or check Sum,Mean,Max, then select new slots, it removes the entered Label and checkmarks. Once you generate it, it is OK. DONE
11-17-2009 David (2) Why not optionally show the Description in the report? DONE
11-17-2009 David (3) Why repeat the title and sub-title after an interval? This can be made optional. It's required for the Green Book application. Done.
October David (4) Slot selector needs to allow you to select columns of agg series slot. DONE
Some preparation work done. David (5) Should we be able to display Table Series Slots? Currently we can't do this. Doable, but may take more time than we have available now. NOTE: I did do a lot of preparation work for this. Internal mechanisms now use SlotColRefs instead of Slot pointers, and the configuration serializaiton now includes a column index.
David (6) User Column Label should be disabled when Substitute... box is not checked Doable, but low priority. (Requires an additional notification, not a bit deal, but low priority).
David (7) Shouldn't "Page Break after each Interval" be dependent on one of the 2nd two Group Timesteps being selected? Doable, but low priority. (Requires an additional notification, not a bit deal, but low priority).
11-17-2009 David (8) I have a couple of small edits to wording. I will just print out a screenshot and make notes. DONE
